The fall season is in full swing, bringing arguably the best flavors of the year to Chicagoland’s food and beverage scene. Whether you’re looking for the very best cinnamon, apple or pumpkin treats, my real estate company, @properties, rounded up some of our favorite seasonal sweets to enjoy throughout the area (and I added a few of my personal faves too!)

While these treats are located all over, what are you favorites closer to home? I know we all miss The Wauconda Apple Orchard--but where is your go-to place for fall treats?

Best Apple Cider

There is certainly no shortage of delicious apple ciders in Chicago. These local favorites serve some of the freshest, straight-from-the-orchard cider:

  • Green City Market, Lincoln Park
  • Goebbert’s Farm & Garden Center, South Barrington
  • Sonny Acres Farm, West Chicago
  • Julius Meinl, Lakeview & Ravenswood

Best Pumpkin-Inspired Drinks

When that inevitable pumpkin craving strikes, there are plenty of local coffee shops to get your fix. Our favorite shops take the standard PSL to the next level:

  • Honey Hill Coffee Co, Wauconda
  • Two Hearted Queen, Lakeview
  • The Bageler’s Coffeehouse, Lincoln Park
  • Ipsento 606, Bucktown

Best Apple Cider Donuts

Apple cider donuts are a seasonal delicacy, so switch up your usual donut order while they are still available:

  • Stade's Farm & Market, McHenry
  • Country Donuts, Crystal Lake
  • Firecakes Donuts, River North
  • Dinkels, Lakeview
  • Arlington Cake Box, Arlington Heights

Best Pumpkin Pie

Whether you’re enjoying a slice alone or sharing a pie with friends and family, try out one of these local staples for this quintessentially fall dessert – you won’t be disappointed:

  • Ella Bonella, Barrington
  • Scafuri Bakery, Little Italy
  • Bang Bang Pie & Biscuits, Logan Square
  • First Slice Pie Café, Andersonville
  • Hoosier Mama Pie Shop, West Town
  • Baker Miller, Lincoln Square

Best Caramel Apple

There is nothing like biting into a perfectly juicy, crispy caramel-covered apple in the fall. Head to one of these longtime favorites to satisfy your taste buds with this sticky treat:

  • Anderson Candy Shop, Richmond (check their video below!)
  • Graham’s Fine Chocolates & Ice Cream, Geneva
  • Sweet Mandy B’s, Lincoln Park
  • Kite’s The Chocolate Shop, Wicker Park
  • The Fudge Pot, Old Town
  • Windy City Sweets, Lakeview
