Unsure about where prices are RIGHT NOW in Chicagoland? If you’re considering selling your home or buying a new house, it's important to understand what’s going on in the Lake County, IL market. 

In the Chicago suburban counties, homes that closed in the first week of August 2023 had a median list price of $399,999 but had a sold price of $407,500--2% above the list price.  How does that compare to last year? At the beginning of August last year, the list price was $385,000 and the sale price was $385,000.  So prices are rising slightly, and buyers must pay a little over the list price to get the house. 

So, the biggest takeaway is that sellers are still in the driver's seat. So, if you are considering selling, do it NOW.
